Yotes aren’t known to sit back and observe. Instead, they immerse themselves in all possible experiences — from adding their voices to discussions to joining groups and activities outside their comfort zone — to form a complex, nuanced and accurate opinion.
The College of Idaho knows you and structures our campus visits based on how you explore and make decisions — including choosing the right college. As you think about where your future could take shape, when you visit the College, you’ll attend class, speak with student ambassadors, experience Caldwell and the Treasure Valley, meet with a coach or even introduce us to your musical talents. Your itinerary is specific to you and all of your unique interests.
Whether on a personal visit or group tour, you’ll preview life as a Yote and all that you could do: for example, conducting research in Boone Hall’s laboratories, performing in halls known for some of the Northwest’s best acoustics or playing on an NAIA Championship-winning team.
Start by scheduling a date and time or dig in digitally with a virtual tour. Are you flying to our campus for your visit? If so, check out if you qualify for funding to off-set the cost of your plane ticket.

I get to give into Computer Science while also exploring Psychology and Literature, which keeps things exciting. And honestly, it’s amazing to be part of a place where everyone’s unique background is celebrated!

I chose The College of Idaho because, from my very first visit, the school felt like a home. Being from rural Idaho, with a class of 15 students, I was accustomed to a close-knit community. I was pleased to find the same sense of connection at the College. The staff, students, and faculty were exceptionally friendly. The atmosphere that they created as warm and welcoming. It was clear that this was a place where people genuinely cared for one another.
B.A. in Environmental Studies and Marketing & Digital Media with a minor in Religious Studies.
As a first year, most classmates are in a similar situation of being in a new place with few people that you know. So, there is a sense of togetherness with other first years. I think that the College lets students pursue whatever dream they would like. There is no limit in the first year of what a student can imagine for their experience.
B.A. in Environmental Studies with minors in History and Philosophy and specializations in Business and Geoscience & Geography.
Out of the 40 liberal arts colleges I applied to in high school, The College of Idaho stood out by offering me the most generous financial package that made a four-year education possible. This support was one of the turning points in my life. I developed as an individual from leading clubs, exploring my personal talents and hobbies, connecting with people from around the world, and combining my diverse interests in art, STEM, and politics.
B.A in Computer Science and Mathematics with minors in Art & Design and Political Economy.
I chose The College of Idaho because I was really drawn to the small, tight-knit community. I grew up in a large city for most of my life, so I wanted to be in a place where I could get to know my professors and classmates personally, and where I wouldn’t feel like just another face in the crowd. The idea of being part of a supportive and closes community was really important to me, and The College of Idaho felt like the perfect fit.
